
Salvation required no work of yours; Jesus paid it all. 1 Corinthians 3 nevertheless calls you God’s field and God’s building, a laborer together with Him who only plants and waters. The spirit of the world still sneaks in with envy, taking credit, and divisions, making even sincere effort feel wasted or aimed at the wrong spot.
When we struggle to translate from one language to another, we’re painfully reminded of the problems coming from the Tower of Babel. But do we remember the temptation of that situation, one that plays to our own ambitions still today?
