Songs for Our Temple (Week 7: Psalms 19-21)

Melanie Haynes leads us into Psalms 19-21 tonight as we continue exploring the Psalms and what they tell us about our God.

This Week’s Reading

Read along with us! Throughout the week, read Psalms 19-21 and, as you have insights or questions, please leave them in the comments below! We’ll be here throughout the week interacting with each other on the readings! We’re aiming to read Psalm 19 today, Psalm 20 by Wednesday and Psalm 21 by Friday so that we can discuss all three of them together.

I so love the picture of how the very creation declares God’s glory in Psalm 19. And, as Melanie pointed out in the video, how amazing is it that creation is so much bigger than what we (either as individuals or as humans in general) have been able to fathom and explore. How amazing our God is!

Ps. 20:7 is so powerful: “Some trust in chariots and others in horses, but we depend on the Lord our God.” It is so easy to trust in the power we find in this world, but God calls us to trust in Him, not in the stuff of this world that we muster. A lot of times that looks foolish and a lot of times I just want to figure out how to trust in my own abilities. But, God reminds us that our only real security is in Him.
